after having gone on hiatus for like ever, i guess it's time i paid attention to this lovely blog again. oh and hi terry *waves* :) i'm glad you still stop by.

life is a bit unsettled right now. there are decisions, well no, there is one decision i need to make. a very important one. and it will affect my future. thus i have been struggling for a while. but i've also been trying to keep busy with my new cam so i don't go crazy insane. see, when the tough get stressed, the tough go out and buy new toys. so i have a camera with enough pixels for a damn billboard (well, sorta) and i am just having a blast with it. i still wish i had gotten a digital rebel but maybe i'll get over it. so far, the pictures have not disappointed.

dvd night. i just love this movie to bits, it just gives you warm fuzzies. i can't wait for christmas. oh, i'm downloading "jump" right now to feed to 'pod. i lip synced to this song back in fourth grade with two other girls, my buds back then. i was so pissed that i didn't get to do "true blue" because the cool girls picked it first. bitter bitter! grade school sucked.

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DAILY DIARY:

Day 183 of My Captivity: My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant. Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair, must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan. There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant, he speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the high metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...

found this sitting on my desk today. it's from the high school volunteer at work who was here for a month. i didn't see very much of her as my office is on the opposite side of where she was sitting. but i always said hi to her. i guess i was nice enough that she wrote me a goodbye note on friday, telling me how happy she was that i always greeted her. that's gotta be one of the nicest things i've come across in a while. it just gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. the world isn't so bad after all.

i made a black forest cake for him to cheer him up; the move has burned him out. the cake was fabulous. :D

man, i miss the sun. this whole summer's weather has got to be the worst ever. every waking morning is a foggy day. it gets depressing after not seeing the sun for a few weeks so i went to see it after work. ah thank god, it still exists. it's just 35 miles south. wow, 85 degrees outside of home? so this is what i've been missing out on. anyway, that's my rant today. i treated myself to some window shopping at my favorite mall and a cool starbucks mocha frapp w/a peach blackberry scone. agh, heaven. i sat in the sun for a while and was happy.

then i went back to the fog, mist and overcast ridden place called home. nice. how's the weather there sedgey. hope you're getting the proper dosage of sun cause i sure as hell ain't! oh and, Go 24.

mom and i argue all the time. i hate that, i really do. it really bugs me that she can't admit she's wrong sometimes. her vase of flowers fell over and made a huge mess and she tells me i should've been more careful when i didn't even lay a finger on them. ya mom, it was probably my breathing that tipped them over. then i tell her it's her fault for putting them in such a small vase, it was a disaster waiting to happen. and it did happen. and supposedly it's my fault? ugh. then she gets all sarcastic and pulls that guilt trip shit which i've heard over and again, "oh your mom is just a bad person. i always do things wrong." oh hell no. i'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard than that crap. so from there everything snowballed since i'm not good about keeping my mouth shut when i'm pissed. or when i know that i didn't do anything wrong; defense mode. and i play good defense. then she takes that as disrespect and the shit really hits the fan.

it sucks that i don't have a good relationship w/her. i really wish she'd be my friend. but she doesn't understand me and my straightforward personality. so we don't mix. i really wish it weren't this way.

i get so many compliments on this bag. the girls at work love it. he gave it to me as a surprise some months ago. i'm sure he'd be pleased to know this is my favorite handbag. "i like the color, it's very unique." yep, not black like everything else in my closet. a punch of color makes a difference. the color is a bit off under this ugly light. it's really an avocado/pistachio-ish green.

man oh man i went to tower today and bought three's company season 2 on dvd. its a 4-disc set and i am dying to get through each one. this'll add to my season 1 dvd. i grew up watching this show. though i've seen every episode, i longed for the day when it would come out on dvd so i could watch it a million more times. and yay, todays the lucky day. jack tripper, you are sorely missed. i'm so happy to be able to relive the fun that was three's company. this show brought my family together every evening. that's a rarity nowadays. three's company instilled upon us the much needed gift of laughter. it IS the best medicine.

made lasagna again last night (ya i like to make the stuff so bite me) and for some reason i couldn't figure out why it tasted different. well, i finally just realized that i left out the spinach. *slaps forehead* it's still good. in fact, i'm getting hungry right now and lunch is hours away. ack.

am growing to like listening to classical piano. it just makes me want to ask for some grey poupon, you know. regardless, i'm trying to feed the iPod with this new stuff. it's not complaining. yet. although i have reached the halfway-to-full-point...*panicking* gonna have to start weeding out soon. i'm not interested in the new 'pod. i like the mini and i'm stickin to it.

i also finally got rid of that pesky blemish. you wouldn't believe the gross crap that was clogging that one little pore. i had to do a double take at the tissue i was so surprised. aghh. well, it's gone. i feel much better now. i'm sure you're delighted to hear that :-P

my sister has a dell laptop she uses to just surf/chat on. she isn't really the most computer savvy person. in fact, no one in my family is. so who does she turn to when her computer is "broken?" that's right. me.
ARGH! troubleshooting hell. i fiddle around w/the poor laptop and find that it's been infested with allkindsacrap, i.e. clicking every which link on the internet that gives you all these free software/free "pop-up blocker"/free friend finder/free blablabla and then installs all that sh*t on the poor hard drive. now i can't get rid of some of them and it's crashing the computer. the start button is no longer accessible so i can't turn the computer off properly. it's a mess. ya, like she really needed a "search the web and play slot machines while earning money at home" toolbar on the desktop. crimmony. how to fix this mess!?!!

i have to say i love my job. well, sometimes i also say that i don't but tonight's one of the times i do. staff dinner this evening. we ate at this asian fusion restaurant and had a grand old time. wonderful food. wonderful desserts. wonderful drinks. wonderful drinks...ya...it's nice that we all get together like this every so often since we're so isolated from each other during the work week. we're very fortunate that we all vibe so well together. even our 2 coworkers who are on maternity leave (yes 2, and another one announced this week that she's 7 weeks...lordy) came to join us with their bundles of joy. after the sumptuous dinner, four of the girls and i headed to this great shi-shi-ish (lol ya that's a word in my book) bar for a last drink. they're such a fun bunch. we should party more often. here's to buzzed wednesday nights. a happy feeling indeed.

ya right. but um, i need one really bad. i've left my nails unpainted for weeks since polish doesn't seem to last but a few measley days. especially since i'm a maniac typist. so my fingernails have been bumming it. but! my sumptuous chunky retro burgundy watch is currently the point of interest, as it should be anyway since it's so nice. ya it is!

while we're on the subject, one thing's for sure though. even though i try to keep my toes painted, i HATE doing it. it's like one of those dreaded chores. ugh ugh ugh! i'd rather wash dishes. do-it-yourself pedicures aren't on the top of my favorites list.

sometimes it's hard to be a girl. but i'd rather be one. for a lot of reasons.

i've not eaten cheese puffs (think cheetos) in ages. he gave me a bag from Whole Foods (an organic grocery). the label:

"Our Whole Foods Cheese Puffs are made with aged cheddar cheese. It isn't as easy or convenient to use real cheese but the end result is a better tasting product. With quality and health in mind we chose not to used partially hydrogenated soy oil as an ingredient. Instead, we use expeller pressed canola oil."

great. now i don't feel so guilty having had eaten about 1/2 the bag. cheese puffs are interesting to eat. they're, um, full of air. lol. i am expecting them to be chock full of taste but i get...cheese flavored-textured air. why do i always talk about food.
hey, at least i slept the whole night.

bought a surprise for him today and met him at the beach after work to deliver it. "thank you, sweetheart!" i love seeing his face light up like that. it just makes my day. we're both full of surprises, actually. the other day he surprised me with this great green handbag. i love it, since every other thing in my closet is black. and the design is just my taste.
anyway, the element of surprise makes life so pleasant. surprise someone whenever you get a chance to. it's well worth the effort.

you know when you coast through green lights without even making an effort to? :) i passed through 5 of them on the way home today and thought, "ahhhhh. now there's something that doesn't happen everyday." i saved 10 minutes. with that, i rewarded myself with some new shoes. LOL. gotta love it.

silly but spunky. very me. besides, a girl can't live in stilettos 24/7. my feet are happy.

the weekend's just about over. i sit here at the kitchen table collecting my thoughts after dinner, thinking back about the weekend's highlights. well, for one, we finally found sunshine. the weather was actually really nice throughout which was a treat.

got home and made a savory lasagna for us. no one can say no to my lasagna. no one! just finished watching Something's Gotta Give. great movie, highly recommended. jack and diane are wonderful. diane rocks with that powerbook! yes, i did get teary eyed during several scenes.
it was nice sleeping like a log last night. however, i still woke up at 4am. argh. but the sound of his snoring was comforting so i didn't have too much trouble falling asleep again.
anywho, time for a new week. i'm gonna go get em.

a morning run with my buddy ipod calmed my nerves. bah, that hour of sleeplessness was way annoying, 'specially when i don't like the dark. ya i don't, i'm a big baby. the nightlight doesn't help much. but i digress...saturday mornings are nice, even though it's grey out there, but that's nothing new anyway. in a few, we're going for a drive to find something called sunshine. people 'round here tend to forget what that means, you know. so i'm trying to refresh my memory. in the meantime, buddy 'pod is plugged into my cranked up stereo system and i'm jammin to the beatles. ya, i dig those guys. they're just cool.
the wireless remote for buddy 'pod works well too, if you were wondering. it runs on a CR2032 battery (the round flat one); how long do these things last? anyway, it works through walls so yay, i can flip through songs while i'm in the bathroom :hee:

this week just dragged. and did i already mention how much i hate the weather? all you see out there is grey. i need me a warm beach and some warm sand to sink my feet into. we're still in the dead of winter here. pathetic!

at least i have some biscotti to eat away at right now...

tomorrow evening calls for a cozy night at home. we're making chicken stir fry; never attempted this before so i'm curious to see how it turns out. he hardly uses any seasonings and that drives me just batty. i'll throw em in while he's not looking :) i'm in charge of dessert and appetizers. what to bring.

purple ballgown

last night i dreamt that i was going to my high school prom. strangely, it was held in the gymnasium of all places. but what i remember most is what i wore. i wore this beautiful royal purple strapless ballgown. i think it was satin with a long train and lots of tulle underneath. i remember stepping on it, it was so long. i had to hold it on my arm the whole time. but i remember feeling like a princess in it. i had no date either. but no matter. i felt great.

looked up the meaning of seeing purple:

well, summer's just about here. but i swear the weather is just horrible. i am sick of this overcast crap. i bought a new beach umbrella and am dying to use it already! where is the sun!?...

tuesday is just a day that never ends. i could've sworn it was just the weekend. but that just zipped by, really. friday night's alcohol fest left me hungover till saturday afternoon. i bought us a couple cosmos to celebrate the fact that he may have just bought a new place. you know, we don't drink much of the hard stuff like we used to. so i'm sure our livers were pissed off on saturday.
