Rainbow apple logo

There is a theory that the rainbow apple logo is a deliberate homage to Alan Turing, the pioneer of modern computing, who was hounded to a premature suicide, in 1954, by the British establishment for his homosexuality. His chosen method of departure? A bite from a cyanide - laced apple.

And there's also the rainbow in the apple logo, and Turing's prosecution for being gay. Interesting rumor, but probably it can't be proven.
